What drew you to Pilates?
I love using Pilates to complement my training and my client's training. I find it so useful in rehab for chronic pain or injuries, and a fun way to explore range of movement that we may feel more apprehensive about. It's also a great tool for increasing body and positional awareness and is great for establishing more of a mind-muscle connection.

How do you define your teaching style?
I’d say I’m a bit more functional and dynamic. I blend much of what I’ve learned working as a chiropractor, strength and conditioning coach, and through DNS, along with the other experiences and courses I’ve completed throughout my career in the health industry, and give it a bit of a Pilates flair.

How do you think Pilates can support one’s lifestyle?
The nice thing about Pilates is that it can benefit anyone.

Speaking from an injury and/or chronic pain perspective, Pilates can be the tool that gets you to explore ranges of movement, or ways to move, that you may feel fearful or apprehensive to do, but are essential for our activities of daily living, like getting up from a chair or bending over to pick something up.

Speaking from a sports perspective - Pilates can be the tool to help you balance out muscle group you might not be using as much due to your sport being unilateral or more dominant on one side.

Speaking from an everyday human perspective - It can be a nice easy way to build strength and support for your muscles and get you moving!

Your go-to strength based Pilates move?
I love any form of lunge variation on the reformer or chair!

How should clients feel after your class?
Happy, strong & energised!
